Hi Karen, I don't have any info on the hotel but John SCOTLAND was nephew to John CRAM, husband to Agnes ALEXANDER, sister to Jean Seaton Blair ALEXANDER, my wife's gg-grandmother. The ALEXANDERs were born in "Nebs of the Gate" in Kinclaven, a cottage adjacent to Mireside [see 1841 listing below]. I have lots of info on the ALEXANDERS, CRAMS, MASON, and many related families.
