Hi Alan should have sent this to the list sorry no, well I don't know much about this family, I should say. so far all I have found is (the following family taken from death entry details of Janet) John McGRIGOR (sometimes McGregor) b unknown d unknown m 18 Jan 1783 Ruinacraig Balquhidder (OPR, IGI) Christian McLAREN of Duchrioch ? (also Christan/Cirsty/Christina) b unknown d unknown children: (IGI & OPR) all born Ruinacraig (Ruidnacraig),Balquhidder J.McGRIGOR b 26 Feb 1784 Balquhidder (OPR unknown, IGI* male) - Christan (sic) Katharine McGREGOR b 06 Nov 1785 Balquhidder (OPR, IGI -submission) - Christian Christian McGRIGOR... b 02 Dec 1787 Balquhidder (OPR, IGI* female) - Christian Donald McGRIGOR... b 11 Sep 1789 Balquhidder (OPR, IGI* male) - Cirsty John McGREGOR (McGrigor) b 26 Feb 1792 Balquhidder (OPR, IGI* male) - Christian Donald McGRIGOR... b 08 May 1794 Balquhidder (OPR, IGI* male) - Christian * extracted births interestingly enough, in the 1841 census, by now Janet, James & some family are in Glasgow. In the 1851 census, staying with them are a cousin Robert McLaren @ 31 born Balquhidder, & a nephew Daniel McGregor @ 22 b Callander. In 1841 a Peter McCuan @ 16 & I think he ties into the McLaren's also. I don't know how, or when Janet went to Callander, only that she was there by 1805. This has been an interesting search, as my Mother (b NZ), didn't know much about her parents families (all Scottish). Every now & then I have rung her, "I've found you another uncle/aunt /cousin". My Grandmother died when I was 11, all I remember about the family, other than her own stories, was "we're related to Rob Roy McGregor".
