Jan, I have some Mclarens who I believe are oridginally from Callander but moved too Kilmadock/Doune and John McLaren my ggg grandfather married Mary Brown, one of their Daughters Jane came to NZ with her elder sister Grace and Graces Husband William Smeaton in about 1884.. Jane married John Perfect in Napier and settle in Woodville NZ.. do any of these names ring a bell with yours.     3. Jan & Wayne, Mention of McLarens and Callander reminds me that I have a Christian (Christina) McLaren born about 1787 in Callander. Her parents were a Donald McLaren and a Janet McNab. Christian McLaren married James Eadie in Aberfoyle in 1816 and Christian died on 23rd August 1863 aged 76 in Shettleston, Lanarkshire. Ring any bells with anyone?
