Dear all, Anybody have any Muschet/ Mushet/ Muschit/ Mushat/ Musket (etc) ancestors? Mine seem to have started off in or around the Dunblane and Doune areas in the late 17th century, then went to Tulliallan where Henry Muschit was born in 1710. It's the earlier ones I'm interested in - from Henry on it's pretty well mapped, and I'll be glad to share. (He went to Ayrshire, but that's another story.) Henry's parents were James Muschit and Agnes McEnzie. Now, there's both a James Muschet and an Agnes McKenzie baptised in Dunblane, but I haven't found a marriage and think that Agnes is likely to be a little elderly to be the mother of Henry and his three siblings born after him. A problem is that the old parochial baptism and marriage records from Kincardine by Doune, where there seem to be a lot of Muschets, don't start until 1691, so there are likely to be missing Muschets there, letting alone the problem that not everybody's baptisms were registered. Thought I would throw this one out to the list, in case anybody else has an interest. (Dunblane is now in Stirlingshire, and Tulliallan now in Fife, but these were previously parts of southern Perthshire!) Jenny
