    3. Hi Glen, >From what research I have done, no, I haven't come across any of my GOW line using the FERGUSON surname, not to say they didn't though. Perhaps a 'Google' search on Clan GOW may explain better how some used 'other' surnames and why, like SMITH, McPHERSON instead of GOW or MacGOWAN, etc. It is very interesting. >From the Parish Records, Duncan is the only child I can find born to Archibald GOW and Janet McNAB, although am sure there must be more, but just not on the PR's I have checked so far. Duncan GOW and his wife Ann JACK did have a child called Margaret, so maybe there was a Sister to Duncan called Margaret, thus naming a child after her. Sorry I cannot be of anymore help to you.
