Peter CARMICHAEL joined the Perthshire Militia approximately 1799. He was a Sergeant when he left 10 years later to join the 1 Battalion, 42 Regiment of Foot, where he served in Salamanca, Spain. He died in 1813. I need to find his enlistment papers for the Perthshire Militia to learn who his father is. I have looked in Ancestry.com and on the internet without finding him.
