He has thrown up an interesting story. James Auld it seems was born in 1834 either in Newtyle ANS or Kinnoull PER, possible son of Joseph AULD and Elizabeth NEILSON. In 1857 he married Margaret Constable Thomson Adamson Honey KEILLOR...what a mouthful!! in Inchture PER I have her with a child named Georgina PETER in 1881 census. On Georgina's birth in 1875 it states that Margaret is the wife of James AULD who left her and went to America and she never heard from him again. Georgina's father is George PETER. I am on his trail Any US listers out there with a James AULD in their tree? I am interested to know where he went. Margaret states herself as widow in 1881 but it could be that she has just assumed herself so if she had not headr from her husband. 3. There is a Dunning local history web site well worth looking at. http://www.dunning.uk.net/index.html Most Dunning baptisms of that period are on http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/index.php and I think on the IGI for Perthshire. There are 4 Cairns entries on Gravestones in Dunning churchyard. See the local history site. Dunning 1851 census is part of the '2% sample' of 1851 offered in various places for lookups. My Great Grandfather, Malcolm McRorie immigrated to Canada in the early 1900's, he married Mary Fields (born 1878 in Scotland, Ayr) in Canada where they settled in New Westminster and White Rock BC. His Mother was Mary Dallas (born 1853 in Forres, Scotland) and father was William McRorie (originally from Crieff, born 1847, apparently his father's name was William as well.). Besides my Great Grandfather, Malcolm, Mary and William had other children. Mary, Isabella, Annie, Jeannie, Alex and William. When talking to a cousin (Mary's son) who now lives in Canada, he said that he recalls a story that his grandfather William left Crieff because of his father's second marriage. My cousin, Alistair Elliot sent me a family tree time-lined from William and Mary downwards I am trying to find out where William came from, his mother's name, if he had any brother's or sisters, etc. I have a fair bit from Mary's side already. I also would be very interested in talking to any one who knows something about this family line or of course is related. Best regards, Elaine S. Huesing Edmonton, AB, Canada elaine.huesing@shaw.ca
