    3. Les, Aberfeldy cemetery was not opened until ther later 19th century, so does not feature in the pre-1855 MI books. Earlier burials are most likely to be in St Marys Grandtully, Dull or Logierait. If it is later, there no recorded MIs but burial records are held in the local Council offices in Pitlochry. 2. I have the volume 1 east perthshire, edited by alison mitchell Volume 1, south perth, lower strathearn, 20 cemeteries Volume 1, north perth, cith of perth 9 cemeteries it has 18 cemeteries, strathmore and the Carse of Gowrie...... most of the MIs are pre-1855 I have a fourth book but can't lay my hands on it tonight I am happy to do look-ups but always explain that less than 1% of those buried in a cemetery had stones so finding someone with the same surname it can't be taken as gospel that they are your previous generation unless they are on the same stone.... It is worth looking for MIs and checking for burials with the local council parks division, but the records are not computerized, so you have to tell them which cemetery and the full death date. The MI books are sold by the Scottish Genealogy Society http://www.scotsgenealogy.com/ online shop mariners and ships is one of their offerings Mary in Oregon

    2. Joy Beaton
    3. Hi: I would like to re-post my interest in this family. I have gathered up some information on this family, through IGI, my own research, and the help of some very kind people. However, at this point, I'm wondering if there is "anyone out there" who might be connected to/or researching this family. Parents: James CAMERON, b. 4 Apr. 1787, Weem, Perth, Scotland his wife, Helen DRON, b. 6 June, 1782, Perth, Scotland Children: Helen, christened 5 Aug. 1810, Forteviot, Perth Christian, b. 23 Mar. 1812, Forgandenny, Perth Margaret, b. 22 Mar. 1814, died in Ontario, Canada, 3 Oct. 1891 Anne, b. 22 June, 1816, Forgandenny, Perth Peter, b. 17 Feb. 1818 Elizabeth, b. 20 Apr. 1821, Forteviot, Perth John, b. abt. 1823 These dates have been obtained through IGI, and have not been proved. The IGI show a marriage date for James and Helen as 1809, and being married in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. I believe the date to be correct, but obviously they were not married in Canada. James and Helen, along with two of their children, Margaret and John emigrated to Canada. I don't know if any of the other family came with them. Would anyone be able to help me in finding out when they came to Canada - I think it might have been around 1848. Thank you for reading this query. - Joy in Canada

    3. Hi I've got a ton of photos of my great uncle and great aunt and unidentified family and friends. I wondered if anyone on the list had any Campbell's in their research. My great uncle was David S Macpherson b Nov 14 1889 in Errol died 10 Jan 1948 Dayton, Ohio He married Helena Campbell in 1928, possibly in the US. She was born 6 Oct 1886 maybe in Dundee. I know nothing about her or her family - I have a note that her father was R C Campbell, but like everything else, I can't match that to any information. I'd like to find someone researching the family to share the photos with. Pam

    3. Anyone hearing or seeing anything on the Smeaton Family, please let me know? So far the following documents were located for my grandfather, William Smeaton, b. Crief, Perthshire abt. 1845. They are: US Army Discharge, military pension as an Invalid, Intention To Become a US Citizen, and a marriage certificate for my grandfather. In about 1857 William migrated to the U.S. and 7 years later joined Company C, 29th Regiment Michigan Infantry and fought in the Civil War. He was injured and subsequently discharged from the Army in 1865 at Harper Hospital, Detroit, Michigan. In 1892 he married his fifth (5th) wife Mary Melissa Wright, 15 years of age. He reportedly became a doctor and died in 1908 in Richview, Illinois, a year after Mary gave birth to my father, Raymond Campbell Smeaton. I was born Nov 12th, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan. My father died in July 1979 in Ypsilanti, Michigan where he was buried next to his only wife, Irene Woolsey, born May 29, 1903 and died March 1975. My two brothers, Maynard and Raymond and three sisters Renee, Marylin, and Anita are "still alive and kicking". Thank you! Robert (Bob) William Smeaton San Diego, CA USA Perth area. Thanks for your reply George, >I have an Elspeth BRODIE, b.1793 Bendochy, d.25 Jul 1857 Kinclaven, m.26 Jan >1814 Kilspindie to James ALEXANDER (1788-1850), a farmer at "Nebs of the >Gate" in Kinclaven. Elspeth's parents were Robert BRODIE, a miller, and >Elisabeth ANDREW. She had one brother David BRODIE, b.1791 Bendochy. > I am looking for Agnes or Anne Brodie b. aprox 1789. She married James Menzies sometime before 1812, as her first two daughters were christened in Bendochy 1812 and 1814. I have not been able to find a reference for her parents. This couple left for Canada in 1818 and settled in Oak Point, Greenwich Parish, Kings County, New Brunswick. If they followed traditional naming patterns, according to their children's names, Agnes/Anne's parents names could be Robert and Janet. If these were not nicknames etc. Best Wishes, Dolores

    3. I just looked up the entry to check. Sometimes the IGI contains entries from member-submitted trees, that are not OPR transcriptions. This one IS an OPR transcription, so I would suggest that the original OPR actually says "Angus or Thomas". The only way to know more would be to order the film and look at the original record yourself. But my suspicion is that it is "Angus alias Thomas". 1. 1851 census lookup - Dumbartonshire
    2. My apologies to those who will get duplicates of this message. I am trying all the Lists around Dumbartonshire, because probably there is a higher probablility that some Lister there will have the information I need. Another kind Lister has sent to me the exact reference numbers for the census listing for my GGgparents in Old Kilpatrick in the 1851 census. If anyone has easy access to this census and could transcribe the entry for me I would appreciate it very much. The data I have is as follows: Old or West Kilpatrick; Ward 387; ED 2; page 10 My ancestors are William and Lillias Morrison, shown on lines 7 & 8, with IDs 19196 & 19197, respectively. They were lodgers in this house and I would like to get a full transcription for all the persons in this house, in case there relatives or other details which could lead me to greater discoveries .... :-)) With thanks in advance ....
