I don't recollect whether I replied to you or not ... I'm hunting down a George Perkins who appeared to have come from Ireland when he was 9 (possibly with a brother) around 1875. He seemed to have come through Ellis Island and then ended up on an orphan train to Missouri where he was adopted by the Croswhite family (my husband's side). We're not sure if it was a formal adoption, but at some point in his late teen's, early 20's, he starting using the Croswhite name, versus Perkins. Does this sound familiar? Elyce Croswhite-Zahn
