    3. While we are re-introducing, I'll put my line back out there. David seems to be a common Perkins name in NC back then...we are probably cousins somewhere. Perkins, b 1820, Pitt County, NC, d aft 1880, m Mary Louise Crandall (or Crandell) Lemuel Enoch Perkins, b 1850, Pitt County, NC, d 1927 Taylor County, TX, m Julia Ann Neighbours John Emmett Perkins, b 1884, Hamilton County, TX, d 1928 Taylor County, TX, m Nettie Ilena Pannell Coleman Jackson "Jack" Perkins, b 1913, Taylor County, TX, d 1988, Napa California, m Matalie Parker Jack is my grandfather. The David Perkins who was born 1733 went to Hillborough for the ratification convention in 1788, so apparently travel between Orange county and Beaufort/Pitt county was not too unusual.
