    2. I agree wholeheartedly with John Thompson; names do repeat themselves often in most lines during a certain time period. Remember, too, please that the census records of long ago were written by people who may have been barely literate and were just spelled as they were heard. Information extracted from original records can be incorrectly spelled as well; case in point: when I was trying to find my grandfather's marriage information, I had to resort to the telephone. I found what I needed by using his spouse's name and the approximate date; the problem was that I was looking for Nolie D. McKeever and the marriage information showed Walie McKeever. ( A wonderful clerk at the court house looked through her records while I was on the phone.) Daunting, to say the least. Get thee to a Mormon Family History Library; the volunteers there will help you in every way they can. What they don't have on computer, they probably have on microfilm to be put on the computer. Some of my best help has come from listers. Subscribe to all the lists that contain any surnames you have in your extended family and the lists for any counties and/or states where they lived. Someone out there will have what you need. Betty in California
