Donnell, Thanks so much for the info on the Perkins being Quakers. I had heard that somewhere. I am going to try to get my hands on that book that you mentioned, although we have a very little library in my town, I might be able to get it through inter-library loan. I have had the worst time finding out anything about my family. I can't believe that there isn't ANYONE besides me doing this same family, especially since they had 5 children, and my Perkins lived in Orange/Durham Co area from 1840-1940's, maybe there STILL are some there, for all I know. If you come up with anymore ideas, please let me know,.....I need all the help I can get! Ha, Ha.. Don't forget that Orange Co became Chatham , I know that there are Perkins there on the census I stumble across the name from time to time Chatham gen web is an awesome site with many records , seems like the Perkins I have come across is Thomas or Timothy this is early like 1800or so also cane creek is in the area and it is the main Quaker site for this area that I have found them .
