My understanding is that Old Jock Perkins could be mullato or Melungeon. The only problem with Old Jock being african american on his father's side has been ruled out by DNA. My John Perkins who I have had a hard time tracing was born in PA, his father MD, and his mother PA. The DNA of John and the DNA of a descendant of Old Jock Perkins match.
