My roots come from Kentucky. What city, have no clue. Gfathers name was Delmar Earl "Duke" Perkins. Wife was Ethel Perkins (maiden name unknown). His son, my father was, Ronald Lee Perkins born in 1934. His other children were Betty Louise Perkins, born between 1926-1930,(Died around the age of 19 due to a train colliding with her car in South central LA, CA) and Jack Perkins, born in 1926 (whereabouts unknown) Jack was somewhat very good with interior design and from what I was told when I was young was that her had a Male special friend. They all moved from Kentucky in 1936 to South central LA, CA. that is as far back I know. I can not find anything through this Perkins_List. Anyone have any ideas? Of where to start looking in KT? -----Original Message----- From: KevinOBrien8527@aol.com [mailto:KevinOBrien8527@aol.com] Sent: Monday, October 10, 2005 9:51 AM To: PERKINS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [PERKINS] Re:"Old Jock" Perkins - Physical Characteristics Patricia, I'm in California but our Perkins' were between New York and Michigan and a shotgun scatter-pattern in the Midwest. To have you say some of the Perkins' were possibly mulatto really struck me. I have a couple of photos of women whom I believe are our Perkins' and I have told many cousins over the last 5 years that it appeared that some of them had lip structure consistent with Negro characteristics. Where are your Perkins' from and where were they settled? I'll share anything I have. Do you have old photos? I have only a couple with the reference. I went through KY Historical Society internet to Heritage Quest and looked on census, 1900, 1910 & 1920 for all combinations of the name, Delmar Earl Duke Perkins and found none. There was an Earl Perkins on 110 in Lawrence Co. whose wife's name was Nettie with 6 children. Sorry.
