    3. Hello List, I am trying to determine if any male Perkins descendants from the Halifax or Currituck counties in North Carolina have participated in the Perkins DNA project. It doesn't appear that any of you have. My brother (25 marker) and one other known relative (37 marker) have taken the test and matched exactly. We do not match any other Perkins other than one from Mecklenberg county, N.C./TN./MS. His test was 12 markers. Strong possibility of a link we are working to prove. We are a Haplotype I. Most of the other participants are RBI. (Steven correct me if that is wrong). Have any of you proven beyond Halifax or Currituck counties in North Carolina where the Perkins line came from? Those of you that descend from Henry Perkins and Anne Ferebee, I know where the Ferebee line originated. I have census, deeds, marriages, wills, military records and still can not link my line to which Perkins from Halifax county NC is his father. I have proof he was born there in August 1798. He is my direct line (4th great grandfather) and is in Twiggs County, Georgia by 1818 (may be in Georgia earlier with parents). His wife Eleanor is from Columbia county, Georgia. He moves on the Stewart and Randolph county Georgia. Other male descendants from Halifax county, NC are in Wilkes/Taliaferro and Troup counties in Georgia. These lines go on to Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi and Texas and maybe Louisiana. Please if you descend from one of the Perkins males from Currituck or Halifax county North Carolina or Norfolk County, Virginia would you please participate in the DNA project for us. If money is a problem then make it a "family" project and take up donations. The 37 marker test would be the best to take. My brother plans to upgrade his soon from 25. Thanks, Paula Perkins
