He came to Michigan in 1836 & married Catherine E.Pulver b.10-22-1820 . They had two sons, 1.FRANCIS L. PERKINS b.1-13-1848 2.JOSEPH E. PERKINS b.11-17-1857. Lewis R.Perkins grandfather was Joseph Perkins of NY. Enlisted when 16 years old in Washington's Army as one of his body guards. Joseph's brother James Perkins went through the whole Revolutionary War. ** ALSO** Miss Mary Perkins, dau. of ANNIS PERKINS, a mechanic of Batavia,NY; was b. in Smithfield, Brandford Co.,Penn. & m.
