I just received a letter from Gary Boyd Roberts citing a 1994 correction (NEXUS v. 11, p.96) to his 1993 NEXUS article on the Ancestors of Actor James Dean. In it gives evidence that the Christopher Hussey who married Ann Garrettson was indeed the daughter of John Hussey II and not his cousin Batchelor Hussey. This means that James Dean is in fact a Perkins descendant. In the article he states that the line to John Hussey and Rebecca Perkins also ties him to Perkins' descendants actors Humphry Bogart, Anthony Perkins and Montgomery Clift (NEXUS 3[1986]:178-80,8[1991]:69;10[1993]:111-12,114, philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson (6[1989]:109-11), and genealogist Walter Goodwin Davis. He also states that various other Perkins descendants are treated in his "American Ancestors and Cousins of The Princes of Wales. In his 1996 edition of his "Ancestors of American Presidents he charts the descent of Presidents Fillmore, Coolidge, F.D. Roosevelt and Nixon from the same Perkins family of Hillmorton, Warwickshire.
