Hi Rick in Thailand, Some of this contains errors. I descend from John Perkins, Sr. of Ipswich through his son Deacon Thomas, and have done considerable research on the family. Here is how it goes: Jacob Perkins was baptized 12 July 1624 in Hillmorton Parish. (St. John the Baptist Church) He married (1) Elizabeth Whipple, d/o Matthew and Elizabeth (Hawkins) Whipple. And (2) Damaris Robnison, widow of Nathaniel. Children: Elizabeth b. 1 April 1649 and d. 1 April 1718. m. Thomas Borman, Jr. 1 January 1666/7. (ch. Thomas III, Jacob, John, perhaps others.) John b. 3 July 1652 d. 15 March 1716/7. m. Mary Fiske d/o Capt. Thomas Fiske ca 1677. (ch. Thomas, Anna, Rebecca, Mary, Elizabeth, Sarah, Martha) Judith b. 11 July 1655, m. Nathaniel Brown, Sr. 16 December 1673. (ch. John, Nathaniel, Jr., Elizabeth, Jacob, Mary, Hannah, James, Thomas, Joseph.) Mary b. 14 May 1658, m. John Annable ca 1678 (She did not marry Thomas Wells) (ch. John, Jr., Matthew, Mary, Joseph, Judith, Robert, Joanna, Mehitable.) Jacob, Jr. b. 3 August 1662 d. 12 November 1705. m. (1) Elizabeth Sparks d/o John and Mary (Sinnet) Sparks 25 December 1684. (ch. Jacob III, John, Elizabeth). Jacob, Jr. m. (2) Sarah Treadwell, d/o Thomas and Sarah (Titcomb) Treadwell. (ch. Elisha, Sarah, Mary, Hannah, Judith.) Matthew b. 23 June 1665 d. 15 April 1738. m. Esther Burnham d/o Lt. Thomas and Mary (Tuttle) Burnham ca 1685. (ch. Matthew, Jr., Esther, Joseph, Mary, Elizabeth) Hannah b. 11 Oct. 1670. Dea. Joseph b. 21 June 1674, d. 6 Sept. 1726. m. Martha Morgan d/o Joseph and Dorothy Morgan. (ch. Elizabeth, Mary, Joseph, Jr., Martha, John, Jerusha, Matthew, Deborah, Ann, Hannah, Simon, William) Jabez b. 15 May 1677 and d. 15 January 1742, m. (1) Hannah Lothrop 30 June 1698. (ch. Jabez, Jr., Hannah, Elizabeth, Mary, Jacob, Lucy, Luke, Judith) Jabez m. (2) Charity (Hodges) Leonard d/o Elder Henry and Esther (Gallup) Hodges and widow of Elkanah Leonard 17 December 1722. (ch. Charity) I have more details and dates, but too much to put here. I am currently compiling a book on the families and English origins of John of Ipswich, Abraham and Isaac of Hampton, Rufus of Chester, VT, Rev. William of Topsfield and Edward of New Haven, CT. It is almost ready to go to the publishers. Of course it would cost an arm and a leg to mail it to Thailand, so perhaps you would not be interested in purchasing it. But at least this reply gives you some corrections. There is a lot of controversary about the Mary Perkins who married Thomas Wells. Mary the d/o Jacob would have been too young, and the date of her death and age at the time do not agree with the birth of the Mary d/o Jacob. I know there are several researchers working on this. I have done some, but not a great deal. Here by the way are my references for the above: Hillmorton Parish Records Davis: "The Ancestry of Dudley Wildes" Perkins: "The Family of John Perkins of Ipswich, MA" "Vital Records of Topsfield and Ipswich, MA" Whipple: "A Partial List of the Descendants of Matthew Whipple, the Elder of Bocking, Essex Co., England" Savage: "Genealogical Dictionary of the First Settlers of New England" Torrey: "New England Marriages Prior to 1700" "New England Historic and Genealogical Registers" Perkins: "Old Houses of Norwich, CT" I hope this helps some.
