I am looking for information on the parents of Jesse Perkins b. 1827 in Al or NC. Jesse married Sophronia Shands and lived in Tippah Co, MS. On the 1860 of that county there was living with him a John Perkins 26, b. AL which was possibly his brother. The family story passed down is that Jesse and two brothers came to MS from AL. Jesse died in Tippah Co, MS abt 1882 and was buried in an unmarked grave in the County Cemetery neat Walnut, MS. His famliy then moved to Erath Co, TX via a sort stay in Izard Co, AR. I have been unable to trace Jesse back to before the 1850s and would appreciate any help anyone can give me. Elaine Perkins
