I asked my cousin of CHRAA (Christian History Research And Archives) if he had anything on Perkins, particularly in Kentucky, and this was his response: Re Perkins L. Perkins: messenger from Little Barren No. 3, Metcalfe Co to Original Barren River Baptist Assoc in yrs of 1871, 1889, & 1894. Louis Perkins listed as messenger in 1879 & as church clerk in 1889. J.R. Elam Perkins: joined Brush Creek Baptist Church Green Co, KY by letter in 1859, & is noted that since then [to when?] that 9 members of his family have been baptized into church. He must have been well thought of as it states church was in gloom due to his recent decease. In Feb 1876, he was appointed w/2 others to "prepare & report a draft of the house" (planning to build new church building) As messenger to Green River Baptist Assoc from Brush Creek Baptist Church in 1871 as "E.
