The reference to Scrooby is of interest. I have a John DUNHAM born in Scrooby, Nottinghamshire, England 1588-1589. He married Abigail BARLOW October 22, 1622 in Leyden in the Netherlands. He died March 02, 1668/69 in Plymouth Mass. My mother was a PERKINS and so far I have her line back to Samuel PERKINS porbably of Bridgewater Mass who fought in Rev War and married Merhetible SHURTLEFF in Maine after the war. Sounds like there was a sizable group of people from Scrooby who were Puritans. Do you (or anyone else out there) have any historical info on the town? Would like to get my PERKINS back to the same area as the DUNHAMs. My fathers mother was a DUNHAM.
