    3. Hi everyone. Here is some of the latest information I have for my gggrandfather, Thomas J Perkins, b 1832 in Illinois. His father came from Kentucky. 1832- Born in Illinois 1852- From Lawrence Co., Illinois to WA Territory. (via Oregon Trail?) 1855- Volunteered for Indian Wars service with Regiment of Washington Territory Volunteers, US Army, as a mounted private. 1856- Married to Esther Bryan (my gggrandmother) at John Laws' residence in Mima Prairie, Thurston Co., WA Territory. 1857- Thomas Perkins was the defendant in a criminal case with the United States Court in Thurston County, W.T. for selling liquor to Indians. No outcome has been determined at this time. 1860- Census in Thurston Co., W.T. At this time (17 June) Thomas was 28 years old and was a farmer. He and Esther had no children, however, Esther's brother Preston Bryon, 14, was living with them. 1870- Census in French Town, Walla Walla Co., W.T. At this time, (4 June) Thomas was 38 years old and still classified as a farmer. At this time, he and Esther had four daughters ranging in age from the oldest Lucy (California Louise, my ggrandmother) at age 9 to the youngest at age 10 months. 1880- Census in Wallula, Walla Walla County, WA. At this time (9 June) Thomas was 48 years old and now classified as a "stockraiser". It also notes that his father was born in Kentucky, but his mother's birthplace was unknown. If this rings a bell with anyone, I would sure like to hear from you. Best regards, Peter Grauer up in Kamloops, BC, Canada
