Married Elwyn "Larry" HAWKINS. William listed his parents on his SSN application as Levi and Molina PERKINS, however, he was said to have been orphaned at an early age. The 1870 census of Calcasieu Parish, LA lists: Levi W. PERKINS 29m, Lumberman, LA Frances L. 38f LA Melanie 3f, LA Sarah A. SMITH 18f, LA Harry SMITH 16m, LA Brunett R. PERKINS 20 LA Sawmill Laborer.
