Lucille ______________________________ -------------------- X-Messa >> Lucille, Do you have any more info on Lewis Perkins father of Isaac Perkins. I am looking for any information on Luis/Lewis Perkins, b.c.1760/1770. May be the son of Jacob '' Old Jock'' Perkins & Mary '' Polly'' Black. This Luis/Lewis Perkins shows up in the 1820 Census of Floyd Co., Ky. In 1837, There is also a, James Perkins & Joshua Perkins listed on the tax list of Floyd Co., Ky. These may or may not be the sons of Lewis, In later census records, James Perkins( who is the younger of the two) states that he was born in Ky., Joshua Perkins gives Tennessee as his state of birth. This may be the Lewis Perkins who is mentioned in the Trial of Perkins vs White. I do have a little more info. on this Lewis Perkins and his brother George Perkins that I have rec. from other researchers, Also more on the trial of Perkins vs. White in which other children of Jacob'' Old Jock'' Perkins and Mary''Polly'' Black are mentioned. I will be glad to share what I have with anyone who is interested. I do not know if you are aware that the name GOINS, is a very popular name amoung Melungeon researchers. Helen
