He was buried in Weathersfield, Windsor County, Vermont, in the Ascutneyville Cemetery. His gravestone reads: "As I am now so you will be / Prepare for death and follow me." He married Sarah --?-- (widow? Purchase) in Southwick, Hampden County, Massachusetts, after 1 April 1783 (Southwick, MA VR - intention of marriage April 1783 "Rusul Perkins of Southwick & Sarah Purchase of Simsbury"). Sarah was born 1749. She died 11 July 1842 in Weathersfield, Windsor County, Vermont, at 93 years of age. She was buried in Weathersfield, Windsor County, Vermont, in the Ascutneyville Cemetery. Intention not recorded.). Zaavan died 1855 at 68 years of age. At some time during her lifetime she may have resided in Wallingford, Vermont, but I have no idea when that could have been. Her probable absence from her mother's household in the 1800 census suggests the possibility that Zaavan Perkins, whom she married at age 28, was not her first husband.
