Dear Marie, Yes, check the 1850 IND. and the 1860 IND. Fed Census. Also, you state below that John S. Perkins died in 1909. What state did he die in ? Check that state's 1900 Census for information on his place of birth, his fathers place and his mothers place. Also, if you know when and where he died, have you searched for his obituary or death certificate? Denise Anderson who is helping me with my PERKINS line had a John S. Perkins in her line but, he was from Maine. This is why I asked where your's was from. Too bad he was not from MAINE.
