THE PACIFIC TRANSCRIPT PACIFIC, MO FRIDAY DECEMBER 15 1905 BIRTH-DAY CELEBRATION A man 84 years old Has 84 Descends Many if not quite all the 84 descendants of John M Perkins gathered at the farm home of that man at Grubville, in this county last Saturday, December 9, to congratulate him upon having attained at the 84th anniversary of his birth. One remarkable feature of the gathering was the fact that four generations of John were present -John M. and his son John L., his son John M., and his son John H. All sat around the same dinner table. Of the 14 living children grand old grandsire, ten were present. Thirty seven grand-children and 13 great grand-children live to venerate his name, and most of them live within a small radius in the south east corer of Franklin County, and are well to-do and respected farmers. twenty -four of the grand-children and all 13 of the next generation were present on this occasion. The second Mrs. Perkins , mother of nine of the children and a due number of the grand-children to her credit, still lives a hearty, middle age dame of seventy summers. May both of the venerable couple live to celebrate other anniversaries. Mrs. Joseph Withington wife of Conductor Withington, of this city, is a daughter of the old Patriarch. she and her two children were at the home gathering and little Ben Withington accompanied them. _____________________________________________________________________ I alway though this was part of the family but i could never link.
