    3. I have been using Family Tree Maker since version 1 and now up to 8. I bought Generations Grand Suite 8 last year becuase it is supposed to be better at charting. I never could get used to the interface. I keep going back to family tree maker. I much perfer the data entry interface of FTM. It is easy for me to use and navigate. I have found the Family Finder search on the internet to be very very useful. I have found other researchers that were researching the same line I was researching this way. I believe any of the top software will work fine for you. Find one you like and stick with it. Also make sure it is being fully supported. I usually dont upgrade every time a new version comes out, But I do upgrade about every other year. For example, instead of having the children listed as tabs on the side of the screen and having to go to the middle to scroll down to find other children, Generations has this ALL down at the bottom for easy access. As I learn this program, I think I will like it better than FTM. By the way, if anyone has information on the Perkins of Anderson County, Texas, I would like to exhange information. This is a line of my family that I have very little on. Thanks, Darrell ==== PERKINS Mailing List ==== Don't forget to let the Perkins List members know about your home page!
