There are three Perkins listed in the Roster of the Historic Regiment "1st Minnesota Volunteers" If you do not know about them it is worth reading the book "Last Full Measure" by Richard Moe. You can find them online at www.firstminnesota.com Click on "Old First" then click "Roster of old first" and then search the database by "Last Name" you will find three "Perkins". The last of the three is an Ellet Perkins and the site has a wonderful picture of him in Full Uniform. I am not related to any of these men. But my "Perkins" connection may come from there somehow. I have two GGGUncles who were in the 1st Minnesota and the stories are heroic. Their sister (my GGGrandmother) and her husband adopted a young girl named Elvina Perkins in Aldrich, Wadena Co. MN. sometime between 1885-1888. Several of the veterans of the 1st lived in that area. There was another Vet. of the Civil War there from another unit named Charles Perkins. Oh well another mystery to solve........ Dean Cameron
