Does any one have Information on a Dorcas Perkins b. 1776 in Maryland and married Mosses Dawson in Bourban Co. Ky. I've tried Maryland Census and they are closed to Public Information. Thanks for aany help. Lewis.
Seems to me I had records of the Perkins in the MAnsfield/Coventry/Willimantic area...I'll check. Someone once sent me info on the PErkins who lived in Rt. 32...toward Willimantic...that area is now called Perkins Corners. I'll see what I can find. Have you sent to the clerk's office for a birth certificate? I'll browse at the UCONN Library too..the next time I amover there......and then there is the MAnsfield town clerk. I have yet to explore there...and the MAnsfield Historical Soc. I had a PErkins too...but Frederick was out in Litchfield..his dad Christopher was born in Torrington. we think...I was looking for a connection for him, with eastern Ct.... This won't be much help, but sometime in a few months past I found a list of Andersonville POWs. Wish I could help more, but at my age I am lucky to remember that much. I had a great-grandfather there. MMc
Thanks for writing. Someone else may see it and have the list or information about it. I was really confused, as one cousin told me the story she heard, was that the oldest son was sent to find his father. That seemed odd, when they lived in CT. Eventually he got home, believe he may have had injuries, but know that Mary Ann received his pension?? if that is what it's called, when he died. I can't believe how it can be so hard to find these people. Thanks again. He married a woman by the name of Martha. I do not have her last name. They had seven children. Joseph, Jr. b. 28 July 1689; John b. 4 June 1691; Caleb b. 8 July 1693, m. Anne Beakes in 1721; Humphrey, Joshua, Mary and Martha. This is from my own book, but if you would like references I can dig them out.
