    3. Paula, I have pretty much decided that I am descended from David Perkins, who shows up as a witness to a will in Albermarle in 1690. His grandson, David, appears to be the one who was a N.C. delegate to Hillboro to vote on the constitution in 1788. Does the older David look to be related to any of your early colonists? 1. John Perkins md to Elizabeth Lee/Loe
    2. Family Historian
    3. Been watching for a reference to my John Perkins, but nothing so far. I think he was born between 1811 and 1815, rumours say either New York or Indiana - big difference there. Elizabeth was born Aug 14, 1818 in Ohio, died possibly in Michigan before 1880 - daughter of John A. Lee and Rebecca Dille. The above information came from Philip Perkins, here on the list - and I am grateful to him for this. Anyone, or even you Philip, have additional information on this John Perkins? This being an ancillary line I do not spend alot of time researching, but periodically check the lists for anything new. 3. Things pop up on these rootsweb sites ever so often. My grandmother was a Perkins. Her father was Steven Perkins from Sumner, Illinois. I was told he was the local sheriff and his wife, Mary Ann, ran a boarding house. Now, the odd part. My late husband's great-grandmother married a Hanna, and I saw a D Hanna respond to this site. I'm wondering if perhaps he might be related to my late husband. One never knows. This is a small world!!!! 3. Hi Joseph, Have neither in my my data base, but will keep this note from you, as you never know. I did get a little lax in listing siblings and am also behind getting my charts into the computer. When I was baby sitting for my grandaughter, used to grab up a stack of stuff and after the boys were in bed, I would work on my genealogy. Don't miss the running every night, but do miss the kids and the genealogy time. I am trying to find the parents of Elihu Stuart Perkins, b 1 April 1803 in New York, died 16 Sept. 1885 In Lone Tree ,Johnson County, Iowa. I have a copy of a letter from his daughter , saying Elihu and siblings grew up in Antwerp, Jefferson County, New York, The Black River Country.. She gave the names of the siblings --- Adaline married a Hauverman, Tiley married Gurdon Crooks. Tiley was born in 1800., brothers Eliab (or Eliub) and Solomon. Elihu married Sarah DuBois, in 1832 in Cayuga County New York. I would be so very grateful for any piece of information. Thank you for taking time to read this Sincerely Pat (Perkins) Shockey patricia shockey msdorchexbar@earthlink.net Why Wait? Move to EarthLink.

    3. I have a Charles H. Perkins living in Farmington in the early 1900's. He was born March 9, 1875 in Dover, NH; died 1918 in Rochester, NH. He was the son of Thomas and Mary Ann Perkins. His father died in 1881, and his mother was living with him in Farmington at the time of her death in 1907. Don't know if there's a connection with your line, but would love it if there is! This line leads to my brick wall! Thomas, b. 1834, was the son of James Perkins, b. abt. 1801, d. 1877, and Susan Downes, b. 1805, d. 1853. 3. Joan, William is a family name in my line...I have a dozen of them in my research. We proceed from Pitt County, North Carolina. William H. Perkins, born 1820 in Pitt County had six sons. Two went to Florida, one died, one went to Texas, leaving two unaccounted for. John Emmett, b Sep 1845, killed sometime around 1870 Lemuel Enoch, b Mar 1850. He went to Texas in the 1870's after killing the killer of John. He is my gg-grandfather Charles Dean Perkins, b Mar 1852. He went to Florida in the 1800's. James Perkins, b 1854/55. Edmond Latham Perkins, b 1858. William Hardison Perkins, Jr., b Jun 1850. This is the other brother that went to Florida. James and Edmond, I do not know where they went. I have seen record of a Robert E. Lee Perkins in my searches, but he does not appear to be related to me. 2. Hi, Joan~~ What info do you have on William Asa PERKINS?? My brick wall is also in Mississippi---Tippah county---Jesse Mercer PERKINS Our PERKINS ended up in Texas, too. Our DNA shows a link to the PERKINS in southern Mississippi and Virginia, but don't know how we are linked. Jesse born in Alabama. Would appreciated any info as I keep hitting my head on that "wall". 2. The Perkins
    3. Hi Joan, and all Perkins' List Subscribers. I am Raymond Perkins and descend from Samuel Perkins born January 23, 1783 in NC, possibly Anson Co., and died June 20, 1853 in Hardin Co., TN. He is our brick wall. It is suspected that he is related to a James Perkins who also born in NC abt. 1787, lived in MS most of his adult life and died August 1865 in Oktibbeha Co. MS, and also a Joseph Perkins who was born November 27, 1784 in VA and died February 14, 1847 in Oktibbeha Co., MS but no conclusive evidence has been unearthed. Anything that would shed any light on these matters would be greatly appreciated, or any of the following individuals. Samuel Perkins had 14 children who lived to adulthood: Hugh M. 3. Thanks Deb. I had been to Mansfield town hall a couple times and was trying to check out land records. I was not sure of what I was doing. The Perkins Corner area/land as the story goes, once belonged to Mary Ann's father or family. I think I read something about a Daniel Perkins having some kind of business along the river. Gosh, wish I had a better memory. I had nothing that would tie Daniel with Mary Ann, so have not gone any further with it. Lack of time, not interest has really been a problem. All my ancestors, mom and dad's were from Windham county. My mom's paternal family, the Chapman's were Old Saybrook to E. Haddam and then for some reason her father moved to Chaplin, which is where he married and my mom grew up. Her maternal side was Snow. Thomas Spencer and Mary Ann Perkins son John Spencer, married a Sheehan. John ran a business on Jackson St in Willimantic for many years. I would be grateful for any info that you may uncover. I keep promising a day or two for myself just to get to Mansfield and Chaplin to spend some time. Somehow those days never materialize. Having a large family is nice, but keeps me busy. Now come the college graduations, weddings and such. Thank you for writing. 3. I am researching my father's side of the family: Ephraim Perkins m. Susan Wentworth, daughter of Ephraim Wentworth and Susannah Cook Ephraim was born about 1800 in New Hampshire. Ephraim and Susan married 24 Feb 1833, and they had 7 children: Robert R, Charles H, Mary E, Emily A, Hannah F, Laura H and Luther H (twins). They are living in Farmington, Strafford, NH in the 1850-1880 census records. Their son Robert R Perkins, born in June 1837 in New Hampshire, married Mary J _____. They had 10 children: George C, William S, Charles H, Frank A, Ralph E, Harry I, Arthur B, Susan M, Katie M and Annie L Perkins. They are living in Farmington, Strafford, NH in the 1860-1900 census records. Their Son George C Perkins, born in Jul 1853, married Nettie Lovey Pearson, daughter of Horace B and Love Jane (Gray) Pearson of Alexandria, New Hampshire. George and Nettie are my great great grandparents. George and Nettie are in Farmington in 1880, and moved to Haverhill, Essex, Massachusetts by 1900. They resided there at least until the 1930 census. George and Nettie had three children: Walter Ivan, Ethel May, and Edwin Clarence Perkins. Their son Edwin Clarence Perkins, born 28 June 1894 in Haverhill, Essex, Massachusetts, married Lillian Maud Smart, daughter of Henry M and Nancy Anna "Annie" (Crissell) Smart. Edwin and Lillian are my great grandparents. Ephraim Perkins is my brick wall - I have not been able to locate any further information on him, other than what is available on the census records. If anyone has any information on any of these Perkins, I would most appreciate it. For more complete information on what I have found so far, I have a website which lists the Perkins I have named above at: www.geocities.com/kirabennett/ Thanks, Erin L Perkins Bennett
