Sorry. My Perkins start at Benjamin Perkins, ba 1801, Connecticut
Hello, I am placing this post on both the Warwickshire list and the Perkins list. I have recently traced back a new line in Warwickshire, the surname PERKINS. Elizabeth PERKINS born 13 May 1745 in St Andrews, Rugby, parents Issac PERKINS b. 5 Apr 1700 Hillmorton, mother Ursola ROBINSON b. 1709 Rugby. Issac's parents where Thomas PERKINS and Susannah. Thomas was born 6 Jan 1671/72 Hillmorton, parents Henry PERKINS and Elizabeth. Does anyone know anything about this Henry PERKINS? There seems to be a big PERKINS family in Hillmorton, but i'm not sure how my Henry fits in. Any help gratefully received, Regards Morag
Dear Tina, We have a John PERKINS married to a Rebecca FURGERSON or FERGUSON. They had children, George Washington PERKINS b 1820, Nathaniel PERKINS b 1825 in Watertown, NY. Do you have any connection to this PERKINS family? Or any info on John and Rebecca Perkins? Kindly, Jan Johnson Bay City, MI

My 7th Great-grandparents are Samuel Hovey & Elizabeth Perkins. I'm trying to figure out who Elizabeth's parents may be. Elizabeth Perkins was born abt. 1718. According to "Massachusetts Marriages 1633-1850" Samuel and Elizabeth married in Ipswich, Essex, MA on Oct 10, 1737. I've seen her parents listed at Jacob Perkins & Elizabeth Kinsman, Jacob Perkins & Anna Littlefield, and Tobijah Perkins and Elizabeth Pierpont. I have no idea which family she may be connected too. Edith Wyllys b.1872 Windham County, Ct. dau.of Philander and Eliza (Snow)Wyllys. In 1880 Edith is living in the town of Windham, Windham County, Ct. with her parents and siblings-William E. 29, Emma 18 and Nettie 12. I do know that Edith is married to a Mr Perkins by Sept. 1897 when she is mentioned in her Aunt Almira Snow Dow;s will. Edith is listed as Edith Perkins. I am trying to find 1) more on the Wyllys/Willis family 2) the first name and family of Mr Perkins. Any and all ideas, clues, etc. are welcomed. Thank you, April
Good evening to all subscribers, my first posting on this list. On behalf of my wife, I am just starting out on researching the family tree of her paternal Grandmother, Agnes Emma PERKINS. I would obviously appreciate replies from anyone with connections to this family or PERKINS connections to the place names mentioned. I would be interested also in being referred to any relevant on line records or to any information such as relevant parish records which may have been transcribed onto floppy or compact disk. Agnes was one of 11 children born to Joseph and Fanny. The children's names were with approximate dates and locations of birth, Fanny E 1879 - Egginton in Derbyshire, Charles 1880 - Etwall in Derbyshire, Ernest 1881- Etwall, Sarah A 1883 - Etwall, Edith M 1885 - Etwall, William 1886 - Etwall, Agnes Emma 1887- Egginton, George A 1890 - Sheffield in Yorkshire, Joseph 1891 - Egginton, Lily 1895 - Sheffield and Herbert 1899 - Sheffield The family appear to have moved from rural Derbyshire into industrial Sheffield around the 1890's Agnes Emma's parents were Joseph b 1855 in Egginton and Fanny b 1857 in Egginton. In the 1901 census, the family were living on Sorby Street in Sheffield. Joseph was described as a Carter, with his own business. The family were also in Sheffield in 1891, with Joseph described as a Coal and Milk Dealer. In 1881, Joseph was lodging at North End, Wirksworth in Derbyshire, whilst his wife Fanny was at Egginton Road ( Gravel Pit ) No. 2 at Etwall in Derbyshire with her family Joseph had 2 sisters, Elizabeth b 1859 in Egginton and Mary A b 1860 in Egginton and a brother, Thomas b 1857 in Egginton. He married Elizabeth who was b 1853 in Burnaston, Derbyshire. Thomas and Elizabeth had the following children.William b 1877 in Burnaston, Thomas b 1878 in Burnaston, Alice b 1879 in Burnaston, John b 1881 in Burnaston, Elisha ( male ) b 1883 in Burnaston, Ethel b 1885 in Burnaston, Harriet b 1887 in Burnaston, Thomas b 1888 in Burnaston and Joseph b 1891 in Egginton. The parents of Joseph and Thomas were Joseph b 1831 in Egginton and Ann b 1820 in Newton, Derbyshire, who in 1881 were at Dog Kennel in Egginton. Joseph appears to be the son of Thomas and Elizabeth ( nee GRADINER ) She was b in 1800. They were both born in Egginton and were married 23 November 1827 in Egginton. I suspect that the marriage of Ann ( b 1820 ) to Joseph may have been her 2nd marriage and the name TROWELL or HOWELL may be linked somehow ! I would appreciate advice on which Family History Society to join which is relevant to the area containing Egginton, Burnaston and Etwall Roger Stevenson in Sheffield, England
Good evening from Western Canada I am looking for the marriage of John LEWIS & Louisa PERKINS about 1856/57. That is assuming their oldest, Thomas age 24 below in 1881 was born shortly after. Thomas was also the oldest in 1871. Their youngest in 1881, Walter was born November 9, 1878. They lived on Lot 18, Concession A, Indian Reserve, in Tyendinaga Township, Hastings Count, Ontario at the time of Walter's birth before moving to Napanee, Ontario by 1881. Lot 18, Concession A is the same location as the family in the 1871 census. Might anyone have any PERKINS connections in eastern Ontario? Thanks very much and have a great day. Does anyone have George K. Perkins in their line? There is an autographed violin located in the Air Force museum in Dayton, Ohio on display. The plague with it says, "Violin purchased in a music store in Issoudun,France, in November 1917 by 1st Lt George K. Perkins, comander, 29th Aero Squadron. He entertained with his violin at many French flying fields, including the Third Aviation Instruction Center, near Issoudun. Donated by Mr. Perkins, Stuart, Fl." Stamped on the back of the violin is George Perkins, 1316 Corbin Place, Washington, DC. Just thought it might be of some interest to a Perkins out there. --------------------------------- Yahoo! for Good - Make a difference this year.

Not exactly. Edward Perkins was born 18 January 1622/3 in London, England. H married Elizabeth Butcher 20 Marcy 1648/9 in New Haven, CT. The Edward who was born (bapt.) 5 April 1607 was the s/o Thomas Perkins who married Mary Bate. This Edward it is believed married Alice Harding 14 Sept. 1637. See pages 7 & 70 of my book "English Origin of Six Early Colonists by the Name of Perkins." I forgot to answer the second part of your second question. I have found some more connections of some later Perkins' and have posted them on my web site. But nothing on the early lines. http://Perkins-family.org Paula -------------- Original message from Larry Perkins <hawgrider88@yahoo.com>: -------------- > Paula, Is the the same Edward born 4Apr1607 that married Elizabeth Butcher? > > PERKINS-D-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > PERKINS-D Digest Volume 05 : Issue 85 > > Today's Topics: > #1 Re: [PERKINS] First Perkins to Ame [Don Perkins ] > > Administrivia: > To unsubscribe from PERKINS-D, send a message to > > PERKINS-D-request@rootsweb.com > > that contains in the body of the message the command > > unsubscribe > > and no other text.
