    1. My own re-introduction
    2. John Perkins
    3. Hi all! I am John Emanuel Perkins, originally of Warren, Ohio. My parents are John Albert Perkins and Juanita Mae (Isler) Perkins. I have hit the usual brick wall fairly earlyin my own line. Maybe, since it's been a while since I posted, someone has some info to help: My dad's father is Emanuel (some spell it Emmanuel) Perkins. Emanuel's first wife was a Laura Stewart and his second wife (my grandmother) was Naomi Nancy (Crouse) [Weaver - first husband] Perkins. Emanuel's father was William (possibly William James) Perkins and his mother was Mary Jane Stewart. (My understanding is that my grandfather's first wife was a younger cousin or a cousin x-removed to my grandfather's mother.) That is, unfortunately all the farther back I have. I do know that my grandfather was raised around Coraopolis or Perryopolis, Pennsylvania - somewhere called "The Neck." My grandparents are buried in Masontown, Pennsylvania. I have pics of the headstones for anyone interested. I also have a picture of my great grandfather and some family members. To make it easier to follow, here is the lineage I have thus far on the Perkins line. I will not include the Weaver and Crouse sections as it gets confusing enough: William Perkins married Mary Jane Stewart. Their known children are: Emanuel (or Emmanuel) Perkins Ellie Perkins Bertha Perkins (who had an illegitimate son name William "Billie" Perkins) Possibly two unknown brothers. Emanuel Perkins married Laura Stewart on 27 March 1906. Their known child was: William Sylvester "Cook/Cookie" Perkins Emanuel divorced Laura on the grounds of infidelity. (Laura had an illigitimate son with a last name of Crofcheck (sp) per what I've been told. The father was black, per my Aunt Violet.) Emanuel met Naomi Nancy (Crouse) Weaver (a widow) in Mount Sterling, Pennsylvania. Naomi and HER mother did housekeeping for Emanuel. Emanuel offered to take Naomi in with her four children because he knew that the home where she lived was small and really could not handle the size of her family. To make things simple and to prevent rumors and inuendo, etc. Emanuel married Naomi on 9 March 1927 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Emanuel and Naomi had two children: James Earston Perkins John Albert Perkins John married Juanita Mae Isler and had five children: John Emanuel Perkins (me) 26 June 1957 my two brothers My two sisters (I have to be careful as my family, for some reason, wants everything to be a big secret. Unfortunately, they don't seem to realize that to GET information, you have to GIVE information.) Anyway, if ANYone can point me in the right direction, I'd be greatful and I am of course willing to share anything I DO have on the family and any history with others. 3. I've just joined the Perkins list and wanted to introduce myself. I have only recently discovered my connection to Newton J. Perkins (b 1814) through my father's mother and ascend from myself: Julia Frances Brannon (m Rusty Allen Cook) Kenson Tribble Brannon (m Norma Frances Leming) Vivian Arzelia Shirley (m Floyd Cicero Brannon) Sarah Magdeline Webb (m Tribble Shirley) Arzelia Perkins (m Joel Webb) Newton J. Perkins (m Cyntha Wilson) I have read through the archives and it appears that there is at least one person on the list with the same line and I'm looking forward to learning more about the Perkins line. I've visited the Perkins home page. I had hoped to find some pictures and a place to post pictures. I have a picture of Arzelia and Joel Webb that I could share. I also have a picture of a Pinky Greene. When I visited the gravesite of Newton and Cyntha Perkins (and several of their children) I noticed there are a lot of Green(e) graves. I'm assuming these families merged at some point, although they might have simply been neighboring farms. I don't know, but I wonder if anyone has an interest in the tintype I have of Pinky Greene. I look forward to meeting new family and learning all I can about the Perkins line. Julie

    1. Perkins Index
    2. I dropped the Hillmorton Parish Perkins Genealogist a note about the Thomas Perkins someone was looking for. He could not find this particular one, however he did give me the web address for his Perkins Index. Perhaps it will be of help to Perkins researchers. http://www.btinternet.com/~jimperkins/page17.html Paula Perkins Mortensen
