    3. Cindy, do you know if your John L. PERKINS had a son named Frederick W. PERKINS? I've only been able to trace my PERKINS ancestors back to this Frederick (b May 5th, 1853; married Caroline ACHESON; d Jan 16th, 1933 in Orono, ME). I don't know Fred's parents. Some records say he was born in Canada, others in England; however several census entries report that his father was born in Maine. Fred W. married Caroline ACHESON in New Brunswick, Canada; the couple was living in St. David, New Brunswick in 1881 but emigrated to Maine soon thereafter. They were in Vanceboro, Washington Co., Maine in 1900, then moved to Bangor, ME by 1910 and spent the rest of their lives in Bangor and Orono. Fred and Caroline's children were Willis (maybe Willie), Nellie M., Frank H., Grace Lena, Harry R., and Christiana PERKINS (all born in Maine between 1881 and 1895). I'm descended from Grace Lena PERKINS (b 1889 in Vanceboro, ME; married William S. CARLISLE in Bangor, ME in 1912; died 1979 in Bangor, ME. Her daughter was my grandmother, Virginia CARLISLE (b 1917 in Bangor, ME; married Donald Francis GIBBONS in Bangor, ME in 1937; died 1972 in Burlington, VT). Jenny Gibbons

Seabury Perkins b. abt 1788 in CT per PA census reports of 1850 and 1860. Lived in New Milford, Susquehanna County PA. Wife Lucy Storrs. Possibly b. VT? (No actual proof though, just an old bible entry I have never personally seen) Children, Nancy b. 1813 m. Uriah Belcher Chester b. 1814 Tracy b. 1817 m. Alvina Wilbur, then Phoebe Wilbur Ansel b. 1819 m. Catherine Williams, then Orilla Van Housen Possible other children, Armina Esther There is another Seabury Perkins b. 1794 in CT. I cannot find any connection between the 2 Seabury's. I am a direct descendant of Tracy Perkins, who came to IL in 1bout 1848 with wife Alvina and children: Francillo, Amelia, Orlando and Alzina. Orlin and Orson were born in IL. 3 of these children died of Typhoid in 1850 and so did their mother, Tracy then married Alvina's sister Phoebe, who raised his children. Anyone know of my Seabury?? 3. Cole, would you be able to look up Annie Warren, who married Stephen Perkins in 1817? Also, Rebecca Maria Akerley (Ackerley, Ackerly, Akerly, etc.) who married Alexander Warren Perkins in 1840 ? They lived in Ulster and Dutchess Counties in NY. Bill Perkins Cole <cwaite1@neo.rr.com> wrote: Hi Kathryn, First a gentle reminder, if you reply to the list everyone gains and someone else may have the answer or can add to the conversation. Second I don't have a William b. 1738 in my data. I checked some of the Perkins Press for him but didn't find him right off. If you can find access to this set you may find him there. It is a 22 issue set, 30pgs each, by Jennifer Perkins ISSN# 0898-1574 There are about 5 to 10 references to a William in each edition. That's 200+ lookups. Do you have a wife maiden name? that would be easier as it's only needed to check the index in each issue. Also if you can find a match with his haplogroup would be a good start. Be patient with the DNA it is only in it's fourth year of testing and just passed the 60,000 test kit mark at FTDNA. BTW I am willing to do lookups in the Perkins Press for non Perkins names, ie. spouses. It may not be successful as of the limited publication. There just isn't enough information to narrow him down yet and I don't have the time to do a search so I hope you can find a copy. Cole

    3. Lucille: Do you know a male with the Perkins name in your line? He could test with the Parkins and Perkins Y DNA study to see which Perkins line he matchs. I know there is someone from the line of Edward Perkins of New Haven CT in Louisiana, but he has not joined the study. http://familytreedna.com/public/Parkins-Perkins/ Regards, Steven C. perkins On 4/20/06, robi4711@bellsouth.net <robi4711@bellsouth.net> wrote: > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "mary bishop" <mbishop@kih.net> > Subject: Re: [PERKINS] Re: William Perkins > > > > Are you looking for the issues of Perkins Press. 3. Hi Cole.. It sounds like you have some wonderful treasures. I will have to look up my Judith Clough information and get back to you. My interest is in the Clough line. I really just found out about them and my connection last year. I stumbled on the last name of my ancestor and put out a question on the Clough-L list and one of the replies I got was from a cousin in CA that asked if I realized that I was a decendent of a pilgrim that came on the Mayflower, which I didn't. I'm in a time crunch right now but I will will see if I can find some more info about Judith. 2. Dear Karleen: Thanks for the warning. I already came across that on the web. They had William Perkins, b. 1738 as a son of Timothy Perkins, b. 1736! With siblings 30 years older. I believe they had him confused with William Perkins, b. 1783. I realize we have to be careful....there are a lot of mistakes out there. I saw one mistake in my own family on the web. They gave my father an extra wife, and 2 more children! I guess there will always be mistakes. Thanks Karleen....I am forewarned! Peace!
