Hi everybody, My Ggrandfather was Ira H. Perkins who was born in April 1850 in Elmira NY, son of John Perkins and Orinda (maiden name unknown). Ira moved to Clinton MA where he married Eldora Jewett and had several children: Charles Eugene, Orinda, Laura, Sidney F., Albert and Eldora L. I recently purchased "The Family of John Perkins of Ipswich, Massachusetts" from Higginson Books thinking I could take this line back further, but lo and behold, the Ipswich bunch is not my line. :-( If anyone out there has any of the other Perkins books, could you see if they are listed and let me know where I can find my Perkinses? I would appreciate it very much. Marty Loss P.S. If anyone would like to buy a brand new copy of "The Family of John Perkins of Ipswich, Massachusetts", email me.
Hi Brenda; Well, your luck is true to form--No Augustus. Sorry. Jerry

I am looking for more info on the family of Thomas Perkins and his wife Faithy Peoples Martin. I know of one daughter, Nancy (b. 4/22/1804, d. 4/15/1853.) She married John Martin (possibly another reletive of Faithy?) As far as locations go I only know that their son, John Martin Jr., was born in North Carolina in 1832. Please email me if you have or want more information on either the Perkins or the Martins. Thanks, Simone Haslam (simoneh@juno.com)
Jerry, What a nice offer. Judging by my past luck in finding my person, he probably isn't in your book, but please try. Augustus Perkins b. VT abt June, 1858 d. Oneida Co. aft 1900 In one census, he says his father was b. in Canada, but that's the only census on which he reports that - usually VT. Thanks so much. Brenda

Here is another book I am interested in obtaining. Any help is appreciated, or any suggestions on getting information from that book. Thanks, Debbie Spencer Axtman
I descend from a Samuel Perkins b.c. 1804 SC, d. after 1870, Fayette Co., AL. In the 1850 AL census, he has a Samuel Perkins, b.c. 1760, VA living with him, showing about 90 yrs. of age. I assume this to be his father. I have been trying to locate the AL Samuel Perkins to any other line. Does anyone out there have a Samuel Perkins of VA? There is a Samuel Perkins, the right age, in the DAR Patriot Index, to be this elderly Perkins man. Any ideas welcomed... Julie O'Neil Perkins Coweta Co., GA jperkins@mindspring.com
I just recently received info that indicates that my "newest" ancestor is Elizabeth Perkins/Peckins prob born circa 1725. She married William Parrish born 1722-1723 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland on Nov.3, 1743 in Charles City County, VA. They had 12 children that I have limited info on. Can anyone help me "flesh-out" this line? Thanks, Jan -- Jan & Gary Patterson researching Boykin, Brewer, Brunham, Carney, Copeland, Jackson, Patterson, Poyner, Stewart and many others. Hi all, I was wondering where I can get a copy of the following book re: the Perkins family? What I'm looking for follows: "Descendants of Edward Perkins" by Carolyn Erickson Perkins; Rochester, NY, 1914. I have been told that there might be specific information which might help me trace my Perkins line. Any information anyone has would be extremely helpful. If anyone has the book, I would be happy to pay for copies of any information pertinent to this line. Thanks, Debbie Spencer Axtman
I know that there are quite a few people on the list who are descendants of and are researching the PERKINS branch that starts in America with Richard PERKINS born abt 1663 and was in Baltimore by 1685. I am one of those. There are several points that I would like to see some discussion about on the list. For example, I have received information from several of you that says the father of Richard Perkins b 1663 was Chauncey Perkins. At least one other person has Robert Perkins as the father. Does anyone know where the original information came from? Also, Several people say that Richard Perkins b 1689 in Baltimore, the son of the first Richard Perkins, was married twice. And that he had one child by his first wife, and that child was Richard III, born in 1713. Now the thing that puzzles me about this is this. The same people who have that in their records also have in those records a marriage date of 1712 of Richard Perkins II to Mary Sherrill. There are several points like this that I would like to see discussed here on the list, so that all of us searching this branch can learn and benefit from it. Sandy Myers
