Hi Carol, As an alumni of Kearney State College better know now as the University of Nebraska at Kearney, my first question is have you contacted Kearney to see what information they may have for you? They may have her parents name. When I attended I had to give them my parents name. Give them a shot, the worst they can say is they have no information . Did she go there before she was married or after. Be sure to give them both names. Do you know what she majored in? If she was a teacher, then you have a teacher's certificate to fall back on. Let me know how this turns out. Searching for parents of Alexander W. Perkins. Born 1818 in Ulster Co. New York . Died in 1898 and lived last 50 yrs. in Poughkeepsie NY. Per the 1820 census of Ulster co. there could be 4 possibilities: Henry of New Paltz,Ebenezer of New Paltz,Wooster of Saugerties and the Rev.Aaron of Marlborough. I haven't located his exact place of death yet (NY state is very slow) so I haven't found his parents names if indeed they are even listed. At least I might get his place of birth.
