    3. Hi Everyone, I posted a copy of Robert Biggin Perkins' will a few days ago. If anyone would like for me to email as an attachment a copy of this will, let me know. I have a scanner, so I can scan it in, and send the scanned image. Then, you could simply view it and print it out. There are two pages, and the files are around 700kb each. Let me know if any of you want me to send you one like that. Sandy smyers@getonthe.net

    1. James PARKINS - Greenbrier Co. WV
    2. Linda J. Pointer
    3. Seeking to correspond with anyone who is researching James PARKINS/PERKINS whose will was probated in Greenbriar Co. WV in 1825. Wife was listed as Elizabeth and name spelled PERKINS in will. 10 children are named including 7 sons. Looking for James' parents, full name of spouse and where he might have come from prior to setting up residence in Greenbrier Co. Records of many of the children later showed spelling of PARKINS, including on deeds and tombstones. One family story indicated than an ancestor was one of seven brothers, all of whom were Methodist ministers. That story had always seemed far-fetched until this will was discovered and indications are that at least one of these seven sons is listed as being a Methodist minister. The other indication regarding this family was that they were from Lancaster England originally. Any help will be appreciated. Please respond to: Linda Pointer > bsmb65a@prodigy.com <

Robert Biggin Perkins was born in 1736. Here is the transcribed copy of the will. It is fairly hard to read, but I will be as accuarate as possible in transcribing the words. I also have a copy of his son Robert Biggin Perkins will which was dated 1819. I am not sending it just now. Sandy In the name of God Amen. I Robert Biggin Perkins of Lincoln County and state of North Carolina being in perfect mind and memory do make and ordain my last Will and testament. I do first of all commend my soul to God who gave it and my body to the dust from whence it came there to rest till the morning of the Resurection. As to my worldy property which God hath blest me with, I leave unto my beloved wife Betsy Perkins my house and land also one negro woman by the name of Hannah, and one negro boy by the name of Jackrias. Also two cows and calves, one by the name of Pide, the other by the name of Swan one stear, two sheep also her beds and household furniture for her to have and to hold as long as she remains my widow. Then the house and land and Hannah with her increase if any more she have, also Jackrias and all the rest of the property to fall into the hands of my beloved daughter Sally Rough wife of Jacob Rough and her heirs forever. I also give unto my daughter Sally Rough one mulatto boy by the name of Colmon Nelson one negro girl by the name of Epse Carline to her and her heirs forever. Also one bay mare and saddle, two cows and calves, one by the name of Slow the other by the name of Pink, one heifer, one bed and furniture to her and her heirs forever. I also leave every other "spacy" (couldn't tell what this word was} of my property not named to said Betsy Perkins and Sally Rough for the use of the whole. I appoint Jacob Rough my son in law and Levi Perkins my executors to manage my affairs and see that each one gets their part given under my hand and signed with my own seal this the 6th of April, 1823. It is signed Robert B. Perkins and the seal is there. Testators were Dempsey Perkins and Ute Perkins Jacob Rough Exec sworn. It was admitted to probate on April 8, 1823, I believe.

    3. I am looking for someone who might know where I can get information on my great-grandparents. They were William Elias Perkins b. 1839 in Jefferson Co. N.Y. and Anna Maria Woodford b. 1841 in Vermont m. July 1858 in Jefferson Co. N.Y. I would like to learn who their parents were and how many brothers and sisters they had. What were their names? William and Anna lived in Lake City, Wabash Co. Minn. from 1858 to when they died in the 1900’s. They had two sons, George and Sidney and three daughters Letha, Nellie and Florence. My grandfather’s name was Sidney Wellington b. April 21, 1864 at Lake City, Minn. His first son’s name was George but he died as a young child. Grandfather married again, to my Grandmother and they had seven children. William had a brother George who I believe lived in Chicago, m. Annie Campbell and that he had two sons (William E. b. March 1876 in Illinois and George W. b. 1879 in Illinois.” This William E. m. Amy (last name unknown) but they had 2 sons that I know of, George C. b. August 1896 and Willie b. 1908 and daughters Amy, Helen and Emily. I’m looking for members of this family as I think that they might have the family Bible which would help me find the information I’m looking for. Thank you for any help. Donna Lof using S. 1. SARAH AMELIA PERKINS, Morgan Co., KY, b. Nov 1836
    2. If there are any of you out there who are researching the Perkins family in Morgan County, Kentucky, prior to 1860, please contact me. I really need some help with my line here. Looking for the mother of JOHN B. PERKINS, b. Jun 1858 in either Morgan or Lawrence Co. Per "History of Lawrence County KY", his mother was Sarah Amelia Perkins, b. in Nov. 1836/Morgan Co. I've checked 1850 census and by that year there is no Sarah Perkins of 14 yrs. John B.'s mother also had a son by a Harve Mynhier, and one by a man named Woods. So far she's a phantom--can anybody help?
