At my last visit to Houston's Clayton Library I found a book "Green County, Georgia" At page 254 I found the "Will of Archibald Perkins dated 2 July 1834". This will recites: "To daughter Patsy Greer-land and negroes now in her prossession. To son Abram three (3) acres whereon he now lives. I discovered Perkinsville Arizona yesterday as a result of the train trip on the Verde Canyon Rail road. The land was originally purchased by a Kennneth and Mary Perkins. (no date given) The tour guide said the Perkins family still owned around 200 acres. We took a picture of the sign that says Perkinsville and will post to the list when we get home. I have just begun to research my Perkins family. My Grandfather, Jesse Augustus Perkins, was at least partially educated in Harpersville, Alabama and the tuition was paid by my Grandfather's guardian, Robert O. Perkins of Alton, Missouri. My Grandfather married my Grandmother in Muscogee County, GA in 1912 Also a relative, Arminta Perkins of Harris County, Ga. I would be interested in any information about these Perkins. Thank you.
