    3. The Mary Ellen Perkins that I have, daughter of John S. Perkins and Mary Ellen Kyle, was born November 25, 1856 in Indiana, died July 21, 1888. Mary Ellen Perkins married May 24, 1872 in Putnam Co., Indiana to Michael Boswald "Mike" Rice. It is known that some of John S. and Mary Ellen Perkins children lived in Missouri and Kansas.

    3. The County Clerks office at Bonham in Fannin County is wonderful. They have no problem letting you look up records. Infact, both my great-grandparents and my great-great-grandparents failed to pick up their original marriage certificate. The women at Bonham found them in their storage and gave both of them to me free of charge. So anyone having access to this court house and ancestors from this area, it is well worth the trip to Bonham. A recent book about Red River County is called "Gateway to Texas" if that tells you how important they were. I don't know about Fannin and Red River but Lamar has an excellent Genealogical Society if you need help.
