    3. Annie, I don't know which state my John S. Perkins was born, but the census is a very good idea. The first location I have for John S. Perkins (1833-1909) is when he was married November 14, 1855 in Putnam Count, Indiana. So I guess I should check 1850 Federal census for Indiana. John would have been 11 years old. The information I have for John S. Perkins, wife Mary Ellen Kyle and children, Mary Ellen, Reuben, William Hardrick, Susan F., and Cora, comes from an old family bible. Marie

After learning the state of his birth, order that states 1850 Fed. Census film index for P-625 (soundexcode for Perkins).. Your John S. Perkins should be listed in his fathers household as age. 17. 3. Jennifer, Have you by chance called the Cemetery in Boone Co. and asked if they had a record of Minnie Perkins? They might even have the name of the funeral home and a copy clipping of her obituary. Ask all of this when you call the cemetery. If you get the name of the Funeral home and by the grace of god it is still in business, they should have a copy of her obituary in her file there. If not, start checking micro fiche for the local paper a day to 5 days after the date of this Minnie Perkins Death. 3. Lois, I wish there were a connection because this line has been very frustrating for me. I too, have looked with interest in names that have Hard(r)ick in them . It is not a common name and I wonder at one time if it was a surname. The Hardrick name appears three times as a middle name in my Perkins line. Unfortunately none of your William Hadick information looked familiar. The line for my William Hardrick Perkins is: 1 John S. Perkins 1833-1909 m. Mary Ellen Kyle 2 William Hardrick Perkins 1861-1933 m. Emma Florence Carley 3 Walter Everett Perkins 1885-1956 m. Nelle Gertrude Callarman 4 Glenn Hardrick Perkins 1912-1979 m. Myrtle Elizabeth Reider Thanks for your interest Lois. Can anyone else helps us with this unusual name, or connect with our Perkins? Marie

    3. Hi! This is a long shot but my husband's uncle (now deceased) was named William Hardick (spelling questionable) Perkins. Our brick wall is his ggrandfather, William H. (middle name unknown) . Your query is the first time we have found the name Hard(r)ick associated with Perkins. Since common names are so important in genealogy, we wonder if there is a connection somewhere. My husband and his uncle were both born in Chicago but there were some associations with Indiana, so here are their forefathers: William Hardick, b. 1907, Chicago James L. Perkins, b. 1867, Meadville, PA, d. 1948, Chicago, m. Jessie Anderson, Deep River, IN, circa 1890 Ancil B. Perkins , b. 1845, Parsonsfield, ME, d. 1906, El Paso, TX, m. Sarah Wood, 1866, William H. Perkins, b1808-09, d. 1864, Readfield, ME; m. Amy Sayward, 1842, Parsonsfield, ME. (We have traced the Sayward line to the Puritans in Colonial America) I don't know if you can connect to our line but if anybody out there can help us locate the birthplace and/or parents of William H. Perkins, we would be grateful . Thank you, Lois
