    2. I think I took a nap and missed something <g>. Were these "tidbits" in response to a question on the board. If so could someone forward the original note to me? I've read about the Lucie Perkins Stone papers (WK Hall refers to them in his "Descendants of Nicholas Perkins" book) and would be very interested in seeing if they have been filmed. (I'm Nicholas, Nicholas, Constantine, William, William, Samuel Fearn Perkins etc.). Does anyone out there know a link for the Virginia Historical Society or if the material has been filmed? And this time I'll stay awake and pay attention <g> Cary

    1. Re: [PERKINS] Perkins Census
    2. Mary it is very sad. The Perkins family that lived in VA that I am related to were pretty much poor for quite awhile. My dad did well, but her moved up to Michigan to work and he raised a good family :) My husband and I own a business and my brothers are contractors. My dad is a good man, so was my grandpa! My mom passed away from cancer May 21st of this year and I decided that I was going to hunt down family, so here I am. Thank you so very much for helping me find them. Here in Michigan they use to have Virginia picnics, but I am told they don't do that anymore. I was too young then anyway to try and find family there. Oh well I will keep trying to find them! Thanks again Judy

    3. Judy, It saddens me to think that people are so wrapped up in their own personal world that they don't take the time to visit their families like they use to. Life is sooooo short. I wish that I could have known my family from my dad's side. My mother would not let me around them when I was growing up & now they are gone with all the history with them. I am really struggling to find my ancestors. Mary
