    2. Stuart Perkins
    3. All Perkins reserchers, Remember the Scottish/English naming conventions.... First son after grandpa. Second son after dad. Subsequent sons after dad's brothers. This gives us a lot of instances of the same name in the same family, mostly cousins. So, just having a name, location and general timeframe is no guarantee of immediate family relationship. If there weren't enough uncles, the names were usually taken from the mother's family next. Isn't genealogy fun? My David Perkins (7th g-gfather, d. 1733) was an early founder of the town of Bath, in the county of Bath in North Carolina. Really makes me wonder if he came from Bath, England...but I have no evidence yet other than the name of the place. Any of the Bath County, N.C. Perkins are likely related. It is also likely that other branches of the Perkins family that went to other colonies/states...and named the town or county "Bath"...are likely from the same roots...but proving it is another thing entirely. 1. Perkins, Henry M in MI & OH
    2. I'm looking for info on my gr gr grandfather.. I have traced the rest of the family to my time but have run into a "wall" trying to get info on Henry M Perkins.. Here's what i have so far.. I found him first in Bedford Twp, Geauga Co, OH in the 1860 census w/ his wife Phyan Mary Montieth, and their first 2 children, Alice & Alfred living w/ her mother, step-father & younger step-brother (Maria, James & Alonzo Wilkes).. Then in 1870 census in Johnstown Twp, Barry Co, MI w/ his wife, children, Alice, Alfred, Fred & Irene, also an older women named Lydia. I think this is his mother.. They were living next to her parents here.. There were also another couple living w/ them, Nelson S & Sarah L Isham.. Don't know them.. I have looked found 4 Lydia Perkins' in 1870 in the area in 1870.. But the info, death cert, i found did not look to be the one i was looking for.. I did find Henry and the last 2 children, Edwin & Irene buried in a local cemetery.. I found where she, his wife, remarried & moved back to OH and so on.. No info on Henry or the 2 childrens death.. I looked through newspapers, clerks office, etc.. Nothing.. So i thought I'd try to go from the OH info.. It said he was born in Bainbridge Twp, OH.. They didn't keep birth records til after 1864 so I'm not sure where to go from here.. I checked 1850, 1840, 1830 census with no sign of any of them in the area.. Any help would be great... thanks Patrick Perkins Discover Yahoo! Find restaurants, movies, travel and more fun for the weekend. Check it out! http://discover.yahoo.com/weekend.html

Perkins, you can find information on it at his web page http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~scperkins/PerkinsDNA.html or at http://www.familytreedna.com The project is an attempt to discover the ancestry of different Perkins families, and to explore the connections (if any) between them. It will also generate a lot of data that can help future researchers. Any Perkins male can be tested, it's very simple. Give it a look! Bill Perkins
