Oh please. We all make mistakes. When I went to reply to someone it was sent to the whole group instead of the person it was intended for. I hit the reply button properly. I can't tell you why it was sent to the whole group. But I felt an apology was the proper thing to do. To err is human. Thank God I am human. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob" <7ite39w23avuf7q001@sneakemail.com> To: <PERKINS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, June 05, 2005 10:01 PM Subject: Re: [PERKINS] OOPS! > ** Reply to message from "Jennifer Dearing jendear@airmail.net" on Sun, 5 > Jun > 2005 19:25:49 -0500 > >> Clear DayThat message was not for the list. I will be out of the office starting 06/03/2005 and will not return until 07/29/2005. I will only be checking e-mail once a week during the period that I am away from work.
Researching the Greenbrier County Virginia/West Virginia Perkins I descend from James Perkins/Parkins ..d/o/d 1825... Looking for the place of birth of James Some researchers say the Greenbrier Parkins/Perkins were from Maryland then to Virginia.. Have lots of Perkins information, just missing the parents names for James. Betty Jane Perkins

Hello Perkins List members, It has been a while since I have posted this notice to the list and am doing so now only as a refresher. Sometimes we all make a mistake and once in a while we can expect one to slip in. I have done it myself and have felt so silly when it has happened. Now that I am in school full time, I find that I am at the computer more and am able to give the attention to the Perkins list more so than I have in the past few months. Update for those interested. The boys and I are doing fantastic in our new life in Florida and it was quite the change from North Dakota. Contact me directly if you want to know more. Thanks, Sonya Perkins Perkins List Mom sonyapl@cox.net Rules of the Perkins List First and foremost this is to be a Genealogical Discussion Group! A sharing of ideas, information and questions pertaining to the Perkins Family. Although we have these wonderful projects going on, I hope that all of us will continue sharing information and asking questions. It's the posts that help the most to make connections. Rule #2. There will be and I stress no foul language of any kind, no off colored jokes or rude remarks to any other members of the list... posted to the list! What you do on your own time or in private is your own business but this list and it's well being is mine! With an offense of this kind one strike and you are out! Rule #3. There are to be no attached files posted to the list. They will be rejected by rootsweb proper and it's a big mess for us all! This is also a Rootsweb List Rule For all of our protection " No attached files please". Rule#4. There are to be no profitable as in money solicitation to the list I hope to leave all doors open and I do expect some resentment of these rules. If this is the case, please contact me in private at sonyapl@cox.net and help me to understand your feelings on what ever matter is at hand. I am very open to constructive criticism. There will also be except for rule #2 a three strikes on the same rule and your out policy in effect. You will be notified via private e-mail and the rule violated will be posted to the list. After 3 violations you are gone! I just love this list and all that it is about! What an exciting time to be a PERKINS! Thank you!
Sorry guys but I don't understand why we're having this discussion. This is a genealaogy surname list and needs to follow the Rootsweb guidelines for such a list. If someone wants jokes, this is not the mail list for you. There are lots of joke sites that will send them to you, though. Just go to www.google.com and put in "jokes mail list" or something similar. I do not have time to wade through jokes in addition to the regular queries, etc. If the list includes non-genealogy subject matter, I'll unsubscribe pronto. Glodean Gates

I think there are a number of people on this list that need to go back to school and learn how to use their email program. There are also some people that need to think about the rules of the list and we should keep this list on topic. I do not like posting off topic messages to the list but feel it is necessary to do it sometimes. -- Robert Blair

PEDRO Pedro was trying to get into the U.S.legally through Immigration. The Officer said "Pedro, you have passed all the tests, except there is one more test. Unless you pass it you cannot enter the U.S." Pedro said, " I am ready." The officer said "Make a sentence using Yellow, Pink and Green." Pedro thought for a few minutes and said "Mister Officer, I am ready." The Officer said "Go ahead." Pedro said "The telephone goes green, green, green, and I pink it up,and say, 'Yellow, this is Pedro.'" Needless to say, Pedro now lives in a neighborhood near you. **************************** A LESSON FOR ALL EMPLOYEES WHO WORK WITH RUDE CUSTOMERS!!! Indeed, an award should go to the Virgin Airlines gate attendant in Sydney some months ago for being customer focused, while making her point, when confronted with a passenger who probably deserved to fly as cargo. A crowded Virgin flight was cancelled after Virgin's 767s had been withdrawn from service. A single attendant was re-booking a long line of inconvenienced travellers. Suddenly an angry passenger pushed his way to the desk. He slapped his ticket down on the counter and said, I HAVE to be on this flight and it HAS to be NOW". The attendant replied, "I'm sorry sir. I'll be happy to try to help you, but I've got to help these people first, and I'm sure we'll be able to work something out." The passenger was unimpressed. He asked loudly, so that the passengers behind him could hear, "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO I AM?" Without hesitating, the attendant smiled and grabbed her public address mike May I have your attention please, may I have your attention please," she began - her voice heard clearly throughout the terminal. We have a person at gate 14 who doesn't know who he is , If anyone can help him find his identity, please come to Gate 14h The folks behind him in line laughing hysterically. The man glared at the Virgin attendant, gritted his teeth and said, " F...You!" Without flinching, she smiled and said, "I'm sorry sir, but you'll have to get in line for that too." ********************* Little Grace was not the best student in parochial school. Usually she slept thru her classes. One day the Nun called on her while she was napping and asked, "Tell me Grace, who created the universe?" When Grace didn't stir, little Johnny, seated behind her, took a pencil and jabbed her in the rear. "God Almighty" shouted Grace The Nun said, "very good". Soon Grace fell back to sleep. A while later the Nun called on Grace and asked, "Who is our Lord and Saviour?" Little Johnny came to rescue and stuck her with his pencil. "Jesus Christ" shouted Grace. Very good said the Nun. Grace started to fall back to sleep when the Nun asked her a third question, "What did Eve say to Adam after she had her twenty-third child?" This time Grace was just awake enough to hear the question---and she knew what was coming from Johnny, so she jumped up and shouted, "If you stick that thing in me one more time, I'll break it in half!" The Nun fainted.
