Hello All Was doing some perusing at ARIAS and came across a great uncle. The card mentions that he was present for RIOT ROLL 1877... Does anyone know what a riot roll was exactly? Another question........ another card for my great grandfather states "No Federal Service". Since my grandfather served during the CW and was discharged in 1865 at the end of the war and then enlisted in the National Guard in 1870 until 1876 it must not have to do with war service for Union.
