The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, August 2, 1906 MRS. RAGANAH SPIELMAN GURWELL was born in West Moreland Co., Penn., April 3, 1813, and departed this life at the home of her son-in-law, in Chariton, Thursday, July 26, 1906. She was married to D.R. GURWELL in 1831, in Ohio. She lived with her husband for 68 years, he preceding her to the better home six years ago. Of this union 7 children were born, the oldest son dying eleven years ago; LUCY A. PATTERSON, of Virden, Neb.; SARAH (*can't read --- KENBARD), of Oklahoma; ESTHER WHITTEN, Chariton; BAZEL, of Colby, Kas.; EMELINE BONAR, of Birmingham, Ala., and EZRA, of Creston. MR. GURWELL and wife moved to Iowa and settled in Van Buren County in 1846, which place has ever since been her home; for the last six years she has made her home with her daughter, MRS. WHITTEN, of Chariton. Following the services here interment took place in the Russell Cemetery beside her husband. For long years she has been a faithful member of the Lutheran Church. Funeral services were held from the WHITTEN home at 9 o clock, on Saturday morning, conducted by Rev.
