Dear Folks, The following is a bit of a mystery to me and would like any help out there. In September 1890 Mildred May Whitmore was born in Maine to parents living in Boston. Less than one year later her father became critically ill and died. Parents were Peter Augustus Whitmore born Nova Scotia and Georgia McBean/MacBean born Maine. Georgia took her daughter and herself to live with her mother and younger siblings in Massachusetts. in 1900 they were all living in Massachusetts. Georgia's siblings Frank and Adelaide were there. Sister Carrie had married Albert Snowman, both born in Maine. The Snowman's had two daughters, Edna and Ida. Both these children/women married. Adelaide eventually married Leander Greene and moved to New Jersey and took her mother Catherine MacBean with her. By 1910 Mildred is living in PA with the Snowman's. She is 18. By 1920 the Snowmans are living in PA alone. Leander and Adelaide Greene are in PA too. Mildred is nowhere and I suspec she is married by now. By happenstance I found out that the Snowmans and their married daughters ended up coming back to Maine most if not all summers. The summered on Squirrel Island, a very old money, exclusive and expensive area then AND today. A sort of "Martha Stewart place" to summer. Albert is known as Commodor Snowman and the local society page of the news often mentions them. In the 1940's ALbert dies on Squirrel Island and is transported to someplace in PA to be buried. He is survived by one daughter. Carrie appears to be dead at this poin as was a daughter [she is not mentioned.] My purpose for ALL this is to find Mildred, who is a relative. Though she is related to the Snowman's through her maternal aunt, I am not but they are my chance to fine Mildred. There is longevity in this family so If Mildred had children they could be living. I am trying to find the burial place of Albert and Carrie Snowman or Catherine MacBean or Leander and Adelaide Greene. Death dates may lead to obits and info. OR, Mildred may be burried with one of them. Frank MacBean appears to disappear. The Snowman's girls were born in 1880's and married between 1900-1910. There are several personal reasons for wanting to find Mildred as well, as finding a lost relative. I welcome any and all ideas and would consider hiring a researcher at this point. I have attempted to put out queries for PA with RAOGK without response. I have spent the past 16 years looking and have managed to collect this info so far. SHe's out there someplace. Thanks to all for any leads or assistance! david
