    1. Deed and census question

    3. I have a question about my grandfather's Deed to his house. His name was Giovanni (John) DiGiacomo. His deed shows he purchased his house at 2324 Fernon Street in Philadelphia on February 24, 1919 for $1 from a Leon Holtz, single. Now the problem is that I cannot find him there in the 1920 Census or anywhere positively for that matter. If he purchased the house in 1919, why wasn't he living there in 1920? Could it be he rented it out until he was married? He married my grandmother Iolanda Forti on November 7, 1921. Iolanda (Violet Forte) was living with her mother Rose Forti in the 1920 census at 1820 Moore Street - no sign of my grandfather there. By the 1930 they were both at the 2324 Fernon address with their family. I also couldn't seem to find the 2324 Fernon address in the 1920 either. Back then is that what they would do, rent out their houses until married? Any help in clearing this up would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Karen
