Could someone please look in the census for this man? James HALFPENNY. I think he was in Clifton Heights. <btw, where is this?> Thanks for any help. Doris
Hi, Doris: According to Google, there is a Clifton Heights in Delaware Co., PA. When I look up the surname Halfpenny in the 1860 PA census, I found no James indexed (Heritage Quest is indexed by head of household and different surname within a household). But there are 2 Halfpenny listings for Delaware Co.: Series: M653 Roll: 1105 Page: 721 & 722 1860 - Kellyville P.O., Upper Darby Twp., Delaware Co., PA - 6/23/1860 Halfpenny, Henry - 50 - m - day laborer - Ireland - convict/assault & battery ---------- Mary - 50 - f - Ireland ---------- Patrick - 17 - m - spinner - Ireland ---------- James - 15 - m - spinner - Ireland ---------- John - 13 - m - Ireland ---------- Mary - 11 - f - Ireland ---------- Michael - 7 - m - England The other listing is for a 19 yo Thomas Halfpenny from Ireland living with another family in Upper Darby Twp. In the 1870 PA census material, there is a 72 yo. James Halfpenny in Union Co. There is a Henry Hapenny (60) in Upland Boro., Chester Twp., Delaware Co. (living alone). Do you have birth/death dates for your James? Debra On Sunday, Oct 24, 2004, at 16:08 US/Eastern, NH 2 wrote: > Could someone please look in the census for this man?
