Younghans of Matamoras, Pa., a retired postal worker at Hackensack, N.J. and 30-year resident of the area, died Monday December 13, 2004 at his home. He was 78. He was born December 22, 1925 in New York, N.Y. the son of the late Raymond and the late Nora Slattery Younghans. A graduate of Pace University, he was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Matamoras, Pa., and a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Surviving are his wife, Eileen M. Sheridan Younghans, at home; two sons, Robert Younghans and his wife, Diane, of Blooming Grove, N.Y., and Raymond Younghans and his wife, Debra, of Florida, N.Y.; three daughters, Jane Hauptly and her husband, David, of Warwick, N.Y., Kathleen Giovannone and her husband, George, of Johnson, N.Y. and Danise Schneider and her husband, Robert, of Town of Deerpark; 15 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
