Karen, Peggy, I have some census but it is helpfu;l to see what others have come up with. I am trying to figure out what family Sarah may have come from. There are no clues forthcoming as far as names that may have been siblings in the Stenninger family. At least none that have jumped out at me. I was hoping maybe I could find where there was a brewery owned by the family originally. Mom said there was actually a beer named after the surname but Since I don't know the actual spelling of the family I have not come up with that either. Any beer aficionados on the list? Sarah married Peter Nick who I have very little on either. Family lore says he stowed away on a ship from Germany. Our line had a story about a fight and perhaps a n accidental death. While researching I came across a note a researcher had made on Peter that said their line was told he was caught poaching on Keiser Wilhelms property and stowed away. Whether or not any of this is true we have no clue. But obviously some kind of mystery on how he came to US. Thanks for the help with the census. Kassie
